Which lawyers will I be working with?
We value the relationship of trust between the client and his counsels. The lawyer with whom you chose to work, or the one that you approved will remain your main contact on the matter. He/she will supervise, as the matter may be, the team of associates who will work with him/her on the matter.
Depending on the matter requirements, we will gather a team that we think is best suited to your needs. Depending on the matter, we may suggest to staff lawyers from other relevant departments within our firm should we consider it necessary. In any event, we coordinate the work.
Do you have an answer for everything?
Our purpose is to provide you with pragmatic answers to your questions within the shortest deadlines. As far as possible, we do not leave an issue pending without a solution. In all circumstances, we do our best to be clear with both our clients and our counterparts.
If we do not have the required expertise in-house to handle a particular matter, we will let you know and offer to use our professional network of partners. Any work from an outside firm will be subject to your prior approval of its fee quote. In any matter, we will coordinate the work to insure a smooth process.
How do we communicate on matters?
You remain the sole decision-maker on all the aspects of the matter. We will comply with the agreed scope of work and we will seek your prior approval for any important decision that needs to be taken. All draft documents are always submitted to you before being shared with other parties.
It is our practice to maintain regular contact with our clients. You will be informed of the main developments in the matter as soon as possible. We will adapt to your reporting requirements. You generally have several contact persons who can keep you informed or relay your requests for information to your main contact person quickly.
What about your fees?
Our fees are invoiced on the basis of the time spent on the matter according to an hourly rate (exclusive of VAT and disbursements) which is determined annually and which we can share with you upon request. An estimated fee quote can be sent to you upon request. You may, at any time during the course of the matter, ask for a statement of the fees already incurred. Expenses and disbursements will be invoiced to you.
Fees are normally invoiced on a monthly basis and are payable upon receipt of our invoice. Depending on the circumstances, an advanced payment may be requested at the beginning of the matter. Similarly, depending on the nature of the transactions, it may be agreed to postpone the payment of fees until the end of the matter.
Are you thinking about the electronic signature?
We’re not just thinking about it! In addition to its undeniable ecological advantage, the electronic signature is one of the major innovations in the legal practice! We worked hard to offer you the most efficient solution while guaranteeing a level of security and confidentiality that meets our requirements.
What is our international team in France?
In the United Kingdom, our representative office in London is led by all our lawyers who are regularly present in London as part of their day-to-day activities. The office covers the whole scope of the firm’s French law activities in order to ensure full support overseas.
We also have a long-standing partnership with Georgetown University and New York University.
What kind of associates are we looking for?
There is no standard resume. Our associates all have a wide diversity of profiles.
We respect the personality, background and profile of each candidate. Our teams include lawyers with varied and complementary experiences, who are all driven by the same search of excellence.
What kind of training?
Training to grow: the partners and senior associates are strongly involved in the training of the less-experienced ones. Training is an essential tool on which each associate must rely to grow personally. Such tool must meet both the professional aspirations of each individual and the firm’s challenges. In general, associates are involved as much as possible at all levels of a matter.
The associates are also regularly requested to give presentations on technical subjects and legal updates. These presentations sometimes take place within the teams during a matter, during a dedicated training session, or in larger meetings with all the firm’s departments as part of our continuing professional education. In the latter matter, the training sessions are also an opportunity to open up to the areas of expertise of other departments within the firm.
What are my working conditions?
Even if our associates have access to electronic resources, nothing can replace a library: the Ali Baba’s cave for legal doctrine and matter law! But above all, our documentalist will be of precious help and provide guidance on your research.
Will I have an assistant?
Yes! A personal assistant? No! Each assistant supports an average of 4 associates and/or partners. They are a valuable assistance on a daily basis, and sometimes close to a second mother for some of our lawyers.
What role for the intern?
A REAL one! Our interns generally join the firm for a period of 3 to 6 months. They are involved in the life of the firm as full members and live a memorable and interesting pre-professional experience.
For a successful experience, the intern needs to be curious and dynamic, with fluent English and a sound knowledge of IT tools. The internships are paid and an internship agreement is required.
Who am I going to work with? In what environment?
With nice and respectful people! Our associates are young (30/35 years old), dynamic and fun! The work environment is serious but relaxed and friendly, people take the time to say hello and chat with each other. We foster collective work and team spirit, and you can really feel it every day.
Some « events » are regularly organized by the firm (Christmas party, incentive weekends among the lawyers, sporting events…) so that everyone can get to know each other better. As you may have understood, we pay particular attention to the quality of human relationships within the firm.
